Voice Procedure Rules

They are:

  1. Security
  2. Accuracy
  3. Discipline.

Discipline

  1. Discipline in voice procedures ensures that communications are conducted in an orderly and efficient manner. Irrespective of rank, the control station operator in charge of the net is responsible for its radio discipline.
  2. Radio discipline includes: a. Correct use of voice procedure b. Closing down and opening up of stations c. Use of correct frequency d. Constant radio watch by all stations on the net
  3. Only one station may speak at a time by following the rules: a. Listen out before speaking b. Leave a short pause (5 seconds) at the end of a conversation c. Answer all calls immediately in the order as specified in the Communicating Operating Instructions
